I grew up in bookshops.
My mum has spent 20+ years in children's literature — stories were simply who we were. When I had my girls, I wanted that magic for them. But a lot of what I found disappointed me: lack-lustre stories, questionable values, and even some poor grammar and spelling mistakes!
So I started choosing the way I wished someone would choose for me. Every book read first. Every pick deliberate. If I wouldn't put it in my own child's hands, it doesn't go in the box.
